
Department of orthopaedic rehabilitation was formally established in 2007. Predecessor was founded in 1994 by China and German cooperation in building China Training Center for school orthopaedic technologists, CHICOT. Over the years, through the teaching reform and practice constantly, the department has become the field of orthopaedic rehabilitation senior and applied talents education and training center.
康复辅助器具应用与服务专业Rehabilitation Aids Applications and Services
This major was established in 2012, and is approved by the Beijing City Board of education. It is designed to meet the needs of Chinese culture and the national shortage of services for the disabled and the elderly. The major now has more than 20 members on the teaching staff. The school has a Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Laboratory and also has 20 advanced, practical training bases outside campus. Supported by the China Ministry of Civil Affairs and the CDPF resources, we have set up the construction committee composed of professors and scholars, experts, enterprises and institutions: in short, a body of responsible people to guide and supervise the development of the major.
Objectives: the combination of training and theoretical teaching methods is used in order to fully adapt to the actual needs of the elderly in China and the development of rehabilitation and return to work after injury. The students master the basic theory of modern rehabilitation and assistive technology for the disabled and elderly people, with the evaluation of adaptation, training in the use of auxiliary appliances, andprofessional ability, in order that practical talents with high quality and ability may be brought to the market every year.
假肢与矫形器设计与制造专业Prosthetics and Orthotics Design and Manufacture

This major was co-founded and designed by professionals both from China and from Germany in accordance with international standards, in order to pass on and carry forward the German orthopaedic occupation education experiences and models. It is the cradle for training artificial limb orthopedic professional technical talents in China. The director (professor) Fang Xin is the backbone of the team: he trained in Germany and is a specialist in artificial limb orthopedic technology. He won the National Skills Training Outstanding Contribution Award (collective Award) in 2006, the Beijing Municipal Education (Higher Education) Award in 2008, and the National Skills Training Outstanding Contribution Award in 2010.
The department is one of the leading education and training places for the advanced practice of Prosthetics and Orthotics Manufacturing. Over the past 15 years, the department has educated more than 700 students and trained almost 3000 clinical practitioners. The major now has 10 full-time and 36 part-time teaching staff. The department has installed 11 Prosthetics and Orthotics professional training rooms, and 32 off-campus bases all over the country, and the graduate employment rate has been a consistent 100%.
